THE SOS PIN - The "Crown Jewel"

Periodically one concept emerges that is "worth its weight in gold."

This small (7/16" X 3/4") attractive handmade gold and black symbol lapel pin provokes people to ask,

"What does that pin mean?" or, "What do those dots and dashes stand for?"

The SOS pin is made is entirely by hand. The pins are cast. This is done about 12 units at a time. A worker literally ladles molten metal into a small mold. When cooled they are broken apart and polished to remove the flashing. The face is then hand polished for a high gloss. They are then gold plated. After plating, the black epoxy is applied to each pin, one at a time, by hand. Finally the clutches, American made and premier quality, are pressed onto the pins before shipping as a quality control measure. The last step is to take the clutch off the back and put them on a card or insert for a box.
